Shamar Clinic has a responsibility towards addressing the disparity in mental health accessibility and treatment within our society and embraces this responsibility. We recognise that there is a significant divide, with privileged sectors having easier access to quality care, while the less privileged are left with limited options that do not prioritise their healing and wholeness. This inequality greatly concerns us, and it is our mission to bring about meaningful change.
To bridge this gap, we are proud to introduce Phodiso House NPC (Sesotho for “House of Healing”), as a vital component of the Shamar Clinic vision. Phodiso House is a non-profit company established with the sole purpose of providing treatment to patients who may not have the financial means to afford private mental health care. We believe that everyone, regardless of their socioeconomic status, deserves access to quality mental health services.
