Dr. Annemarie Potgieter
Bio
Dr. Annemarie Potgieter has more than three decades of experience as a Medical Doctor and Psychiatrist. She has worked with several hospitals, psychiatric institutions, professional boards and drug trials. As such her wealth of knowledge and expertise enriches the wellness approach adopted within Shamar Clinic. She has served on several medical boards during her career, often as the Chairperson.
Dr. Annemarie is currently working as a psychiatrist in private practice with a special interest in mood and anxiety disorders, adult ADHD, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and obesity. Furthermore, she dedicates her expertise to view these disorders from a Christian spirit, soul and body perspective. She is a compassionate psychiatrist who is interested in the life stories of her patients and walking a journey with them towards holistic healing. Dr. Annemarie is a dreamer with vision and passion to see a change in Psychiatry in South Africa, to include holistic care that is long lasting. In recent years, Dr. Annemarie has co-authored several research papers aimed at sharing her knowledge and enhancing the field at large.
